FCHBA Guidelines for Accepting New Members and Scheduled Meetings

 

Acceptance of New Members

Men and women of Jewish faith between the ages of twenty (20) through forty-nine (49) years inclusive are eligible as regular members of the Association.

Men and women of Jewish faith between the ages of fifty (50) through sixty-five (65) years inclusive are eligible as associate members of the association.

All candidates for membership must be mentally and physically healthy, and of good moral character.

The proposal of a candidate for membership shall contain the following: name, residence address and telephone number, date of birth, occupation, marital status, and name of the member who is recommending the candidate. If married, the proposal shall also contain the wife’s name, religious faith and date of birth. This information must be rendered in writing at a meeting of the Association.

The names of the proposed candidates shall be submitted to the Recording Secretary. If the candidate is favorably reported on by a second member of the Association, it will free him from investigation by the Deputy. Such candidate is to be accepted for membership, and the name of the second member reporting favorably shall be written in the minutes.

The rate of initiation fees for new candidates in the following group shall be:

Regular Members 20-49 yrs. inclusive    $25.00
Associate Members 50 – 59 yrs. inclusive $150.00
Associate Members 60 – 65 yrs. inclusive $350.00

Meetings:

Regular meetings shall take place on the first and third Monday evening of each month.

No meeting may be held on Jewish religious holiday, but may be held on national holidays at the discretion of the President and/or the Executive Board. A missed meeting night may be replaced by an alternate Monday evening.

The President and/or Executive Board may designate the third Monday evening as a Social meeting.

Seven members in good standing shall constitute a quorum for a regular meeting and ten in good standing shall constitute a quorum for a special meeting

These members are authorized to carry on all the affairs of the association. No meeting shall be legal without the presence of at least three officers.

The first meeting in each of the months of February, May, August and November shall be special meetings at which the most important affairs of the Association shall be considered. At these meetings, the financial report for the preceding quarter of the year shall be rendered.

The last three meetings of the calendar year shall be special meetings devoted to the nomination of officers. Election of officers shall be held at the last meeting of December.

Special meetings may also be held at any other time the association may desire; when the President finds it necessary, or when a demand is made in writing by seven members in good standing showing sufficient reason for such special meeting. Members shall be notified of such special meetings via this website, phone call, e-mail, letter or newspaper advertisement. At special meetings, various important affairs may be considered, but the purpose for which the meeting has been specifically called shall be given priority.

All affairs of the Association are to be decided by a majority vote, except in such cases as my be provided in the FCHBA Constitution.
